Aqueleyo-yo

Aqueleyo-yo explores two contrasting musical elements based on a melodic line and a rhythmic pattern. At the beginning of the piece these two materials are differentiated by dynamics, articulation and timbre. In the melodic sections the quartet works as a unit whereas in the rhythmic ones each instrument has its own rhythmic layer. As the piece progresses these sections start bleeding into each other until the climax is reached through a rhythmic and melodic saturation. After all the climax all the accumulated energy disappears and only the original melody is left playing but as it reaches its top note, it also vanishes.
