Brava la Caña
Brava la Caña is a two-movement work for solo piano based on a Dominican merengue called 'Caña Brava'. The first movement focuses on the rhythmic material of merengue (i.e. the clave), whilst the second one is inspired by the harmonic material of 'Caña Brava'.
Brava la Caña explores the percussive and virtuosic qualities of the piano as well as its great resonance and diverse timbres.
